It is important to me to avoid store-bought lotions, but finding natural moisturizing products hasn’t always been easy. But I finally found something that works for me!

So summer is winding down now, and before you know it, the weather is going to start getting chilly and it will be time to turn on the heat. With winter temperatures and the use of heat every day, moisture is drawn from the skin which results in very dry skin.

I have this problem each year and have tried a whole lot of different lotions throughout the years. Unfortunately for me, pretty much all of those lotions have not worked to fully moisturize my severely dry skin.

But last winter, I found something that really helped to moisturize my driest skin

So what is the miracle lotion? It’s not a lotion at all. It is all-natural nut-based oils like sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, or coconut oil.

My personal favorite is coconut oil. I’m a big lover of coconut oil in general and really love using it for cooking and baking. But it’s also fabulous for the skin!

I use extra virgin coconut oil for everything in my house. As a moisturizer, it just can’t be beaten. My face tends to get a little greasy, and yet I have some patches of very dry skin on my face as well. The coconut oil leaves my skin moisturized without adding to my natural greasy tendencies.

On the rest of my body, the coconut oil leaves my skin feeling like silk, but without any greasy residue. Regular use has completely reversed the thick, scaly, dry skin on my feet and has left them soft.

There are some schools of thought that believe that coconut oil can even help those who have skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and skin infections. This is one of the brands that I use and I find that it’s really great quality!

My next favorite

My next favorite oil is sweet almond oil. It is also absorbed very well into the skin and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. Sweet almond oil is used regularly by many massage therapists because of its properties. This is a great brand of sweet almond oil.

The best part of using these oils is that they are completely natural and free from any toxic chemicals. They are guaranteed to leave your skin feeling softer and more luxurious than any man-made moisturizer! If you’re looking for another way to pamper your skin, check out this natural body scrub!

Any of these oils can be found at local health food stores or online.

We love coconut oil and use it for all our cooking. We put a teaspoon in our morning herb tea -or- coffee as in my husband’s case ~ lol! It’s great!! 🙂
