It’s Pumpkin Spice Season and I Can’t Have Any…Or Can I? (Video)

I really do love the start of pumpkin spice season! It means that soon there will be a chill in the air and fall will be here!

Living in South Carolina, no matter how awesome the summer was, by the end of August, we’re all pretty much ready for cooler temperatures! A girl can only handle so many days above 90 before she’s ready for cool fall nights to arrive. And seeing all of the pumpkin goodies arriving in the store means that cooler weather is on its way!

The first official day of the pumpkin spice season always means heading through the drive-thru to grab a lovely pumpkin spice latte (PSL. But with my new journey to become the healthiest me possible, sugar and calorie-filled PSL is not exactly best for my “bottom line”.

Saying goodbye to pumpkin spice?

What’s a girl to do? I had to say goodbye… to the sugary coffeehouse version, and create my own! And it’s still lots of PSL yumminess too!!!

When trying to get healthy, the easier food and beverages is, the better. And this recipe is super simple! I love it because it is very easy to customize. You can use whatever coffee you like. I’m not a huge coffee drinker. I don’t even own a coffee maker (yes, I heard the collective gasp from the coffee lovers out there). One thing I’m sensitive to as an empath is the stimulating effect of caffeine. So I do use some decaf to make these. But because of my sensitivity, I just never started drinking a lot of coffee.

You can also use whichever natural sugar-free sweetener you like. And the milk of your choice! I even occasionally add a couple of drops of real vanilla extract to this as well.

In the video below I show you what I do!

Me with my yummy homemade PSL!

And I couldn’t leave without sharing the printed recipe…just in case you want to print it up to have with you!

Easy Pumpkin Spice Latte

This is a great and simple way to make a pumpkin spice latte that doesn't have all of the sugar that is in the coffee shop version

Prep Time 5 minutes mins
Total Time 5 minutes mins
Servings 1 person

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coffee premade
  • 1 tsp stevia or other natural sugar-free alternative
  • 1-2 tsp pumpkin spice seasoning
  • 1/3 cup milk or non-daily milk alternative

  • Add ingredients to a large coffee mug. Whisk together until mixed well.

Notes

You can top this with a little fresh whipped cream. Or if you prefer an iced latte, start with coffee that is lukewarm and add a couple of ice cubes.
