When it’s Taco Tuesday, and you’re getting ready to whip up a batch of taco goodness, do you typically use store-bought seasoning? Have you thought about trying a simple homemade taco seasoning mix?

Store-bought seasoning mixes are convenient and easy to use. But do you know what is in your seasoning mix? If you deal with chemical sensitivities as an energy-sensitive person, you need to be aware of what you’re eating! Often, there are ingredients that may be right for your body and should be avoided. These include ingredients like MSG, sugar, gluten, chemical additives, preservatives, and coloring.

The good news is that you can learn how to make your own seasoning mixes. It’s really easy to do and so fast to put together! And homemade seasoning mixes actually cost less than the pre-packaged ones from the store!

When you make your own, you don’t have to worry about store taco seasoning that is filled with ingredients that may not be great for your body. Making your own taco seasoning mix is simple to do and allows you to control what you are putting in it and what you are feeding to your family. It allows you to customize things like the amount of spiciness in your seasoning mix.

The homemade taco seasoning mix is great for tacos, taco salads, vegetable dips and so much more. If one batch isn’t enough, then you can make multiple batches and store them in airtight containers in your pantry or cupboard!

Here’s where you can find the organic taco seasoning mix ingredients:

  • Chili powder
  • Onion Powder
  • Garlic Powder
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Oregano
  • Paprika
  • Cumin
  • Real Salt

Taco Seasoning Mix

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • Add all ingredients to a small dish.
  • Mix well.

Notes

  1. This seasoning mix is the equivalent of one envelope of store bought seasoning mix. It is best to use this with 1 pound of ground beef, turkey or chicken.
  2. If using less that the full amount, store any leftover seasoning in a small airtight container
