Total Time 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • tbsp extra virgin coconut oil
  • tbsp pure cocoa butter
  • 2 tbsp baking soda
  • 2 tbsp arrowroot powder or cornstarch
  • 7 drops of lavender tea tree, lime, lemon, rosemary or patchouli essential oil

Instructions

  • In a microwave safe bowl, mix the cocoa butter and coconut oil.
  • Cook for 30 seconds and mix.
  • Continue mixing for 15 second increments until fully melted.
  • Add the arrowroot powder, baking soda and essential oil.
  • Pour into a jar or empty deodorant tube.
  • Place in the refrigerator and allow to firm

Notes

  1. For those whose skin is sensitive to the baking soda, mix 3 tbsp of arrowroot powder to 1 tbsp of baking soda. This deodorant will melt at high temperatures, so keep in a cool place (I keep mine in the refrigerator) You can mix two essential oils. My favorite combination is 4 drops lavender and 3-4 drops rosemary. It smells fantastic. Do be careful of use of citrus based essential oils…you may be more sensitive to the sun after use of orange essential oil and can get burned easily as a result.
